Island Weather

Know Before You Go

There are not many days on South Padre Island where shorts and a t-shirt are not typical fashion. Latitude 26 Degrees North puts South Padre Island in a sub-tropical zone. Along with shorts and a t-shirt, swaying palm trees and warm ocean breezes are standard fare.

Because South Padre Island is an actual island off the coast of Texas, the breezes off the Gulf of Mexico keep the island cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter. In Summer it may be 100 degrees in Dallas while only 90 degrees on South Padre Island. In Winter it may be zero degrees in Michigan or Minnesota, but in our island paradise it might be in the low to mid 70’s. Hot on the island is above 95 degrees, while cold is below 60 degrees. You’ll see the coats come out! You should also see the Winter tans!

What that means, is any time of year is a good time to be on South Padre Island in a vacation property by Padre Island Rentals. Plan your trip today to get out of the intense heat or the frigid snow.

Be advised, sometimes y’all from the north bring that cold weather with you. It usually only a last a day or two. Please keep up with local weather! Below is your week long forecast.
