Yummies Bistro

In addition to all the grand adventure locations in South Padre Island, there are also an array of scrumptious local eateries. One popular choice is Yummies Bistro, located in Frankee Plaza. Yummies Bistro promotes five-star ratings on their Facebook page, where customers praise everything from the service to the fine food and coffee drinks. 

I enjoyed my lunch at the outdoor seating area with my co-worker. I didn’t see much of the indoor dining area, but the weather was lovely, and it was a nice day to sit outside and enjoy a meal. Yummies Bistro has a large awning, so you’re out of the sun but can still dine al fresco.  

My co-worker enjoyed a flavored raspberry tea, which our server, Manny, said was quite popular among guests. For lunch, I ordered a quesadilla, which was delicious and its plating was lovely. The perfectly grilled chicken and crisp tortilla made it a dish I will definitely try again. My co-worker had a crisp house salad with a side of grilled chicken; she also raved about how good her meal was. 

Some other recommendations from the server included the Rancheros Santa Cruz, California Benedict, and their variety of salads. Their menu consists of a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options. They also have a specialty drink menu full of coffees, teas, frappes, and smoothies. Unfortunately, I arrived close to closing time and wasn’t able to try a coffee drink. The Nutella Mocha caught my eye, though; it’s a blend of Nutella, espresso, and steamed milk. 

Inside Yummies Bistro is a gift shop with a range of colorful items like t-shirts, mugs, hats, and other merchandise. 

They frequently update their Facebook page with pictures of delicious meals and a soup of the day. 

PRO TIP: Furry friends are allowed outside on the patio, so bring them along for a leisurely lunch and coffee.
