What to Do

Once inside the park’s gates, there are limitless opportunities for fun! There are plenty of rides and attractions in this South Padre Island water park that will get the adrenaline pumping. Try out the Surf Rider, a soft, wave-shaped surface ride that creates an endless sheet of water for bodyboard surfing. After-hour rentals and lessons are also available.

Then there’s the Agua Blanca, a twisting tube chute that goes from the upper part of the Beach Park’s Rio Aventura to the lower channel, floating you from pool to pool. To get from one ride to another, follow the Rio Aventura, an endless river connecting many of the exciting rides around the park. If you’re not one for thrilling rides, you can stay on the Rio Aventura all day long!

However, if you are looking for a challenge, the Storm Chaser is an uphill water coaster that is sure to delight. Riders take a short conveyer belt up the first hill, then the blasters take over! Riders are returned to the Rio Aventura after the ride is over.

For an eagle’s eye view, check out the Soaring Eagle Zip Line, designed specifically with daredevils in mind. Riders soar 100 feet in the air, reaching speeds of up to 35 MPH, moving both backwards and forwards, before finally pausing at the top to appreciate the view. Now, that’s a ride to make your stomach do backflips!

For younger members of the group, there are many calmer options as well. The Pirate’s Plunge is a relatively calm ride complete with misting water and sound effects. Riders twist and turn down a water channel leading from the upper part of Rio Aventura to the lower. Lily Pad is an aqua blue wading pool for younger ones to frolic and play. Squid Row is a very safe kiddie pool for the littlest swimmers.

If mom and dad need a place to kick back and relax, there’s no better place than Bob’s Float-In-Bar, a refreshing heated swim-up bar. Kick back and relax while enjoying a cool refreshment!

There are numerous other options for hungry or thirsty guests. For American-style food, try Henrique’s, the North Beach Grill, or Beachcomber’s. Snacks and sweets can be found at Café Fortaleza and food stands around the park. The Main Palapa offers full bar and table service for a fancier meal.

Finally, keep your eyes peeled for upcoming special events. Check out the online Beach Park calendar for updates on the latest concerts and exciting activities to time your visit accordingly.
