Starting on the southern end of the island, before you enter Isla Blanca Park, across from the Schlitterbaun Beach Waterpark entrance, are a number of boat rental agencies. They offer a variety of boat tours. Whether it is just the two of you or a large group, getting onto a boat and out into the Laguna Madre or ship channel is easy. Dolphin watch tours, sunset cruises, sailing tours, even eco-tours go out regularly during busy seasons. You might have to plan ahead a little more during the slower times of year, but it is worth the effort.
On the mainland side of the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway are more opportunities to go boating. Some tours from Port Isabel are scenic, some are fishing, (see our section on fishing), some are entertaining (sail on the pirate boat at your own risk) and there is one boat that will satisfy your need for speed on the water.
