When you stay with Padre Island Rentals, you’ll find yourself surrounded by your choice of locally owned stores, eateries, and some of the best coffee shops South Padre Island has to offer. I recently spent some time at Karma Coffee and Books, the sister store to Cafe Karma, in South Padre Island. Karma Coffee and Books has the indie coffee house feel of its predecessor but with a bonus of books and a breakfast menu that’s sure to keep you satisfied!
Karma Coffee and Books, located at 2500 Padre Blvd., is within the entertainment district of South Padre Island, which is conveniently located near some of our South Padre Island condo rentals. They have a variety of breakfast sandwiches, sure to satisfy any mood. My favorite is the “Breakfast Croissant” which features a toasted croissant with eggs, bacon, tomatoes, and a drop of honey. In addition to breakfast sandwiches, they also have a selection of coffee drinks and specialty coffees. I tried a hot and yummy vanilla latte, but you can pick your favorite or ask a barista to make a recommendation. Want something a little different? Karma Coffee and Books also have a selection of boba and smoothies, including a build your own boba option.
Karma Coffee and Books South Padre Island have a section of new and older books, separated by genre, which makes finding your personal favorites a breeze. Karma Coffee and Books take customer service to the next level, even including delightful book recommendations, hand-written by the staff. While the whole cafe isn’t dedicated to books, they do have an array of choices to peruse.
Now you’ve got your beverage and book, and you’re ready for a relaxing time. Karma Coffee and Books has cozy chairs to lounge in and some small tables if you’re interested in a meeting place or study group. The artwork was particularly interesting. Karma Coffee and Books has a collection of art consisting of wild animals, the art really pops when you enter the cafe.
