Golf Cart Rules and Regulations
Like almost everything else in life, some rules and regulations keep everybody safe and happy during their golf cart rental in South Padre Island. While some rules vary by the rental company, here are a few which are common to all of them. Golf carts are considered motor vehicles under Texas law. Therefore, you must be a licensed driver to rent one, and you have to obey the rules of the road, including speed limits and seatbelts. No carts on the beach. This not only hurts the golf carts, but it’s a local ordinance.
As with cars, only the renter may drive the cart. Everybody must have a seat, including small children. A South Padre Island vacation is fun, but alcohol and golf carts don’t mix.
