Matthew grew up close to South Padre Island, 60 miles away in Raymondville, TX. After high school, he accepted a Division I Athletic Scholarship to the University of Texas Pan-American, now known as UT-RGV, as a track and field team member. Matthew earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration in May 2006 and accepted a Summer internship with Padre Island Rentals on South Padre Island. After completing the internship with Padre Island Rentals, Matthew began working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, earning sales MVP status and receiving a promotion to Assistant Manager for the McAllen Airport office. After two years at Enterprise, Matthew accepted a position as a Sales Manager for Ashley’s Furniture Home Stores in San Antonio, one of Texas’s largest store. He managed multiple sales teams, hired and led training classes for new employees while keeping his store in the top 10% of sales in the nation.
Growing up in South Texas and his experiences on South Padre Island, Matthew always wanted to return. In 2010 Matthew accepted the opportunity to return as the Sales & Customer Relations Director for Padre Island Rentals. Matthew helped implement a sales and customer service mentality leading to increased average nightly rates, higher occupancy, and more significant ROI for property owners.
Padre Island Rentals has earned the name of the Beachfront Experts. Utilizing our market data and access to the leading technology in the Vacation Rentals Management Industry, Matthew Is working to make Padre Island Rentals the premier management company for property investors on South Padre Island.
